Day Nine: A little better

I have been thinking a lot about this Ted Talk by Baratunde Thurston.  A lot of what I am learning is about a pause.  To stop and think before my reaction becomes an action of racism.  This seems simple but I know it is not.  I have 42 years of learnt behavior to unravel.  To adjust and renew.  I am going to make mistakes.  I am going to hurt people.  I will not walk into school next year the best teacher to brown and black students.  I will just be ready to do better.  Be better.
